The upcoming release of the iPhone 15 models hasn’t even happened yet, and already there are rumors circulating about the iPhone 16 series. Specifically, this report focuses on the iPhone 16 Pro series, suggesting that both phones will boast larger displays and periscope cameras.
Renowned Apple tipster Min-Chi Kuo is the source of this particular report. According to Kuo, the iPhone 16 Pro will sport a 6.3-inch panel, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will come with a 6.9-inch display. This represents a 0.2-inch increase compared to the displays found on the current-generation phones (iPhone 14 Pro series).
This aligns with earlier hints from Ross Young, who stated earlier this month that the ‘Pro’ models’ display sizes will range between 6.2 and 6.3 inches, while the ‘Pro Max’ models will feature displays between 6.8 and 6.9 inches.
In terms of cameras, both smartphones are expected to incorporate periscope lenses, taking advantage of the larger device footprints. These devices are anticipated to offer optical zoom capabilities of up to 5-6x, with components supplied by Cowell E Holdings.
Interestingly, the inclusion of a periscope camera won’t be exclusive to the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Reports suggest that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will also offer this feature, although it may not be available on the smaller ‘Pro’ model. The accuracy of this information remains to be seen.
Initially, there were reports indicating that the iPhone 16 Pro Max might feature an under-display Face ID setup. However, a more recent roadmap contradicts this claim, suggesting that such a feature may be reserved for the iPhone 17 Pro series. Only time will tell which report proves to be accurate.
As for the iPhone 15 models releasing this year, they are said to include a Dynamic Island and feature Type-C ports at the bottom. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to have thinner bezels and frames constructed from titanium.
